This pure white form of the usually pinkish purple flower, produces profuse quantities of white flowers with deeply notched petals. Very long flowering and ideal for a hot spot in the garden where it can self-seed when happy.

One of the longest bloomers in the garden, hardy geranium bears flowers for months at a time. It produces jewel-tone, saucer-shape flowers and mounds of handsome, lobed foliage. It needs full sun, but otherwise it is a tough and reliable plant, thriving in a wide assortment of soils. Many of the best are hybrids.

Sowing advice: Sow at approximately 15-20°C (60-68°F) in pots or trays using a good quality compost, cover the seed lightly with a sprinkling of compost, or vermiculite. Place in a polythene bag or propagator and keep the soil moist at all times. When the seedlings are large enough to handle transfer and grow them on in cooler conditions. When the risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 14-21 days before planting out 30cm (12") apart.

Suitable for the Garden, vegetable garden, allotments, borders and containers. 

Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.

The very dark maroon nodding flowers give this desirable plant its common name "The Mourning Widow". Very popular and deservedly so, this mixture will produce a proportion of plants with attractively marked and variegated leaves.

This is a geranium that is seen rarely but which is such a wonderful addition to the garden. It has two tone flowers, opening quite pale and going pinker as it ages and it has wonderful purple blue stamens. It can be grown in a variety of situations including the back of the border, the front if it has room to sprawl alittle and also in the wild garden where it is equally happy. It likes sun and part shade and will tolerate most soil types. It is also a good self seeder.

This truly flamboyant species grows a stout "trunk", which radiates brittle looking stalks, much resembling a small palm tree, the lower ones bending to the ground to provide support beneath the massive trusses of deep pink flowers in early summer. SOWING ADVICE

Cover with compost or grit 2mm deep in a cool spot if possible, or a cool bright position outside. Please note: this seed is a cold/cool germinator and after sowing will usually not germinate if kept above 14 degrees C. Grow on individual seedlings in 3” pots. Plant out in a well-drained open and sheltered position or in a large pot in a conservatory. 

New this gorgeous pink-eyed white-flowered form of this spectacular plant which produces an enormous massed head of flowers in late spring. It does of its best in a sheltered spot or very large pot when all who see it will be amazed.
