We are offering twelve (12) Cabbage Regency Pointed Heads Plug Plants ready for potting on and growing on in frost free greenhouse or on sunny windowsill ready for planting out as soon as last frosts have passed
Pointed Cabbage 'Regency can be grown almost all year round, producing compact hearts with a delicious flavour.
They can be harvested as soon as the hearts form, and will also stand for several weeks in the ground.
very uniform and compact hearts with a strong base and good standing ability.
It has dark green outer leaves and a tight, light green pointed heart that can be harvested between June and September
Seedlings are ready for transplanting when they have 5 or 6 leaves. Make a hole big enough to accommodate the root ball firming the soil around the plant.
The spacing between plants depends on the end product, for compact heads space at 30cm, 45cm for large heads and only 15cm for spring cabbage to encourage the pointed conical shape.
All young seedlings and transplants should be protected from cabbage root fly. The most successful way to do this is with protective discs around the base of the stem, often called ?collars?.
Keep young plants well watered until established and then only water during dry periods. Keep weeds under control in the beds. Earth up spring and winter cabbages in winter and firm down any which have been loosened by wind and frost.
When plug plants arrive transplant into individual 7.5cm (3") pots of compost and grow on at a minimum temperature of 15C (59F).
When plants are well grown, transplant into baskets and containers. If the plant is suited for growing outdoors when all risk of frost has passed gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 - 10 days before positioning baskets outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun once all frost risk has passed.
Suitable for the vegetable garden, allotments and containers.
Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
