Plug Plant Count: 12

We are offering twelve (12) Brussels Sprout F1 Trafalgar Plug Plants ready for potting on and growing on in frost free greenhouse or on sunny windowsill ready for planting out as soon as last frosts have passed

Brussels sprouts Trafalgar F1 is tall but sturdy and has been bred in the UK so is very hardy & well suited to our climate producing a sweeter enhanced flavour and heavy crops of firm sprouts from Mid Dec to Mar. Sprouts can be harvested as & when needed a little at a time or if the top 'leafy head' is cut off in October in one go, the sprouts will be all ready to mature at once usually at Christmas. Has intermediate resistance to powdery Mildew.

Cultivation:

Once the plants are in the ground the process is easy. Just let them stand and protect them from the eggs of Cabbage White butterfly. Remove any yellowing or fallen leaves and burn them to prevent fungal diseases setting in. Being a shorter-term crop, it is less likely to be troubled by aphids or caterpillars

Harvest: Mid Dec on-wards
Pick from the bottom up as this encourages button further up stem to develop quickly. Regular picking can extend cropping time for up to eight weeks. Don't get carried away and strip plants entirely in one go.

When plug plants arrive transplant into individual 7.5cm (3") pots of compost and grow on at a minimum temperature of 15C (59F).

When plants are well grown, transplant into baskets and containers. If the plant is suited for growing outdoors when all risk of frost has passed gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 - 10 days before positioning baskets outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun once all frost risk has passed.

Suitable for the vegetable garden, allotments and containers.
Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
