‘Montana’ is a beauty and a sweetie. Compact ornamental hybrid lofts a shimmery cloud of extra-large, snow-white flowers in spring, soon followed by a summerlong harvest of conical, medium-large sweet fruits. Ornamental plants are spectacular in a hanging basket, mingling gorgeous outsize white flowers, oodles of sweet berries, and an entourage of runners spilling this way and that. Pairs sweetly with the FleuroStar-winning strawberry hybrid, ‘Toscana’.

What better way to maximise your fruit harvest than with this fantastic, everbearing strawberry's this variety that has been bred specifically for its vigorous trailing habit and prolific, heavy crops. Montana is deal for growing in hanging baskets, where the pretty flowers will look lovely, and go onto fruit prolifically from June to October.
Easy to grow and maintain, just keep well watered and fed. Growing Montana in baskets will also reduce attack from slugs and rodents! Supplied as large basket ready young plants.
Planting Pot Grown Strawberry Plants
Once your strawberry plants arrive, if the roots are dry place them in some water for a few hours and then put the plants in freshly dug and weeded soil that has been enriched with manure or chicken poo tea.
Cultural Instructions take some precaution to deter slugs as they will love to attack your strawberry plants (for example use slug pellets). They will continue to provide fruit for two to three years following planting. Late autumn and spring planted bare rooted specimens are better with blooms removed in May to build strength for future seasons heavy crops.
Plant in full sun Fruits June to late July Trim back annually after all fruit had been plucked. Often expensive when shop bought, so grow your own - it's easy from seed and more satisfying!
