Viola Bambini Mix are lovely petite flowers of pastel pink, apricot, yellow, blue, copper, bronze, bright red, lavender with 'whiskered' faces. Free flowering and neat. Lovely for edging, rockeries, tubs etc, as well as the front of the border. Flowers late spring-summer. Height 6 inches.
Type/hardiness: Half-hardy Annual; Prefers sun or part shade
Sowing:
Sow late winter/spring or late summer. Sow 1/16 inch deep in good seed compost excluding light as darkness is beneficial. Germination usually takes 14-21 days at 65-70F. Keep the soil just moist and avoid high temperatures which will prevent germination.
Growing:
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow cool. Gradually acclimatize to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 6-9 inches apart in most soils, sun or part shade.
Aftercare:
Summer sowings should be moved to a cold frame and planted out in early spring.
Suitable for the vegetable garden, allotments and containers.
Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
