Introducing the new vegetable with...

Flower Sprout is a brand new vegetable, the plant is similar to that of a Brussels sprout but forms open rosettes up the stem to a frilly leaved top. The rosettes are the Flower Sprouts® and look like tiny cabbages with flashes of purple, edged with green frilly leaves. A cross between two real superfoods, Brussels Sprout and British Kale. Winter hardy. An early variety.

Fantastic complex taste of a sprout with a mild, sweet nutty taste of kale.

Just 100g of Flower Sprouts® contain double the amount of vitamin B6 the vitamin that helps us use and store energy from the food we eat and twice the amount of vitamin C than standard Brussels sprouts.

"A generous double dose of vitamin E will fight toxins and provide a powerful antioxidant meaning they are good for the immune system".

Because of its great flavour Flower Sprouts® has proven to be a hit with both adults and children, it is also really easy to cook. After a quick rinse Flower Sprouts® can be steamed, microwaved, stir fried, boiled or blanched.

Sow February (under glass) – April, Sow seeds 1/4 inches deep, about 4-6 inches inch apart, in rows 18-36 inches apart. Cover the seed with fine vermiculite or sifted compost for best germination. Keep moist to prevent soil crusting. Optimum soil temperature range for germination: 10 and 25°C. Days to germination: 5-17.

Transplant 5-6 Weeks from sowing

After plants produce their third true leaf, thin to about 12-24 inches apart, maintaining the strongest plants. These early thinning are wonderful for fresh salad greens. Now apply 1/4 to 1/2 cup of our complete fertilizer, or equivalent, into the soil around each young plant to provide the nutrition necessary for optimum production.

Harvesting: providing a crop between September to early December.

Suitable for the vegetable garden, allotments and containers.
Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
