Narcissus / Daffodils

Narcissus / Daffodils

Narcissus bulbs are regarded as heralds of spring, daffodil bulbs are hardy coping well with winter cold.

The word daffodil is generally used to describe Narcissus varieties that have a trumpet, but whether you call them daffodils or narcissi their appeal is the same.

Daffodils (Narcissus) are traditionally thought of as yellow but daffodil bulbs produce flowers in a range of colours from white and cream  through to varieties with reddish pink trumpets. Many are scented too.

Daffodils look wonderful planted in drifts under trees and shrubs; but they are perfect for pots and containers too. Just plant these hardy, no fuss bulbs once in autumn and they’ll come back every year. They also make fantastic cut flowers for indoor flower arrangements.
