Javelin F1 Consistent, reliable, flexible and very tasty and sweet British bred hybrid variety well proven Javelin is probably the most commercially successful Parsnip variety ever.

Javelin produces an obtriangular slender wedge shaped root. Shallow to level crowns make for easy cleaning and the skin appearance is white to very light cream in colour with excellent canker resistanceand is slow to make hair roots, even when harvested late. It has an RHS Award of Garden Merit. They store well in winter.

Javelin can be sown throughout the sowing year and its tremendous field holding capacity means it can be cropped almost continually from July to June.

Parsnips prefer full sun and rich well drained stone-free cultivated soil. Full sun and deeply cultivated well drained soil, free from stones

Sowing:

Sow directly outside in a well prepared seed bed in shallow drills (1.5cm deep) as below.
