It is a curious little pepper, the Peter Pepper. Some say it's sexy. Some say it's hot. Others say it is delicious. No matter who you are, you will agree it is an unusual Cajun pepper. One that makes every cooking and gift giving occasion an interesting experience.

All chilli peppers are very sensitive to the cold; ensure plants are well established before planting out in a cold house or outdoors. Grow in a conservatory, greenhouse or indoors on the windowsill. Chilli peppers require high temperatures to produce the hottest chilies, too much water, nitrogen and low temperatures will reduce the pungency of the fruits. Fruit does not set below 15°C and above 33°C, flowers can also drop if night temp exceeds 25°C. The red chilies? are the hottest.
Scoville ratings are approx,   150,000+ is hot!!!

Rarely available in the UK. Peter Pepper Red this variety is a medium hot pepper, 8cm long by 2.5cm wide penis shaped chilli peppers. Peppers ripen from green through to Red 100+ days.

Pinch out tip when flowers show to encourage laterals. Mist flowers. Feed weekly with proprietary tomato feed.

Growing season lasting from late March through early October. Set about 16 inches apart. Each Peter Pepper plant produces approximately 100 hot little peppers.

The fiery little Peter Pepper has long been considered too hot to eat! Native to Louisiana and Texas, this blistering capsicum forms pods which naturally and consistently contort themselves into a miniature replica of, well - take a look at its scientific name: Capsicum annuum var. annuum 'Peter' (Penis Pepper).

These interesting peppers are certainly a conversation piece for the gardener who has everything! Seeds are almost impossible to obtain.

For best production keep the plants in the Greenhouse, Polytunnel, Conservatory.

When plug plants arrive transplant into individual 7.5cm (3") pots of compost and grow on at a minimum temperature of 15C (59F).

When plants are well grown, transplant into baskets and containers. If the plant is suited for growing outdoors when all risk of frost has passed gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 - 10 days before positioning baskets outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun once all frost risk has passed.

Suitable for the vegetable garden, allotments and containers.
Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
