Lilies

Lilies

Lilies are tall perennials ranging in height from 2–6 ft (60–180 cm). They form naked or tunicless scaly underground bulbs which are their overwintering organs.

The flowers are large, often fragrant, and come in a range of colours including whites, yellows, oranges, pinks, reds and purples.

Bulbs must be planted so that 3 cm of soil covers the nose of the bulb. Lilies requires a rich, rapidly draining, calcium-rich soil (pH 7). The planting location must receive plenty of light, but too much direct sun should be avoid.
