Climbing French Bean Hunter Vegetable Seeds

Sowing: 

Late March to June
Sow early sowings under glass at 16°C spacing 3 seeds to a pot. Indoor crops should be transplanted into grow bags or glasshouse borders 20cm apart. Outdoor crops can be sown direct after all chance of frost has passed 5cm deep, 25cm apart and 40cm between rows.

When greenhouse seedlings are about 15cm tall plant out into growing bags or soil, and grow on. If needed for outside growing gradually harden off and transplant mid May. Thin out direct sown seedlings to 10cm apart. In each case arrange canes or netting for support.

Maturity:

• Late June Onwards

Tip:

• It is probably better to sow small lots at regular intervals to ensure a continuous supply of fresh Beans. 
• These thrive in warm conditions and so are an ideal crop to grow under protection - greenhouse or polytunnel.
• Whilst they will prove drought tolerant, good watering from flowering time onwards will ensure maximum pod development.
• Mulch around the stems in early Summer.

Suitable for the vegetable garden, allotments and containers.

Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
