We are offering three Supersteak Tomato plug plants ready for potting on and growing on in frost free greenhouse or on sunny windowsill ready for planting out as soon as last frosts have passed

These jumbo fruits have excellent flavor, making them perfect for slicing.

Producing fruits as large as two pounds (32 oz.), SuperSteak Hybrid is a favorite among giant tomatoes. Smooth skin and a meaty texture make this variety perfect for slicing on sandwiches. One slice covers the whole thing! These tomatoes need at least one inch (2.5 cm) of water per week and prefer six hours or more of direct sun each day.

Indeterminate

Spacing: 24-36in (60-90cm)

Exposure: Full Sun - 6+ hours direct sun

Fruit weight: 14oz (400g)

Days to harvest: 80

Tomatoes can be grown easily in patio containers. Be sure to offer a large enough pot, and place it in a full-sun location. Support plants with stakes or cages to ensure proper fruiting.

Be sure to monitor water, as containers dry out more quickly than plants in the ground.

Plant out in large pots, growing bags, or into a soil border at 45cm (18") spacing. Pinch out side shoots regularly and when in flower tap or shake plants daily to aid setting.

For growing in unheated greenhouses, Plant late April-early May. Harvest mid August-mid October.

OUTDOOR CULTURE: Harden off the plants before planting 45cm (18") apart in early June. Choose a warm, sheltered position.

Grow on at 60°f minimum.

Harvest mid August-mid October. Standard varieties: Support with stakes or canes. Pinch out the main growth when four good trusses have set. Bush varieties: These cease growing when 30-38cm (12-15") high. Do not remove side shoots. Support is not essential, but short stakes will help control the plants and keep fruit clean.

When plug plants arrive transplant into individual 7.5cm (3") pots of compost and grow on at a minimum temperature of 15C (59F).

When plants are well grown, transplant into baskets and containers. If the plant is suited for growing outdoors when all risk of frost has passed gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 - 10 days before positioning baskets outdoors in a sheltered position in full sun once all frost risk has passed.

Suitable for the vegetable garden, allotments and containers.
Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
