Viola, Prince Henry (Viola cornuta) Although somewhat older than its royal namesake, this particularly fine Viola variety produces very freely over a long period deep purple-violet flowers. 6 ins.

Sowing Instructions:

  • Sow all year round, but March to early May or August to September give best results.
  • Chill Viola Seeds before sowing. Cover lightly with compost. 
  • Sow seeds in a good quality multi-purpose compost either in a greenhouse, or place outside in cold frame until germination takes place.
  • Germination can take from 10 days to 3 months depending on temperature. 
  • When large enough to handle, prick out the seedlings into individual pots.
  • Plant out into final position from late spring onwards.
  • Planting in autumn will produce slightly earlier flowering than a spring sowing.

 

Suitable for the garden, allotments and containers.

Be prepared to water well and supplement feed with high-potash feed during season. Regular feeding is recommended.
